Anti-inflammatory chemistry that calms and rebalances reactive skin

Specialized anti-inflammatory peels — particularly the Chemical Peel's alkaline formulation — can calm the chronic low-grade inflammation of rosacea, improve skin barrier function, and reduce sensitivity and reactivity over time.

How it works

The alkaline pH of the Chemical Peel is specifically calming to inflamed skin — it reduces the acidic micro-environment that promotes inflammatory mediator release. LHA exfoliation removes the damaged, compromised outer skin layer that contributes to barrier dysfunction in rosacea. Azelaic acid (often used in rosacea protocols) has direct anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects against Cutibacterium acnes and Demodex mites (a contributing factor in rosacea). Rosacea patients must be treated with gentler formulations selected by Dr. Kim.
